Presented by NV Homes and Ryan Homes, The Quiet Resorts Charitable Foundation (QRCF) is pleased to announce the sixth annual BunnyPalooza on Saturday, March 31, the Saturday morning before Easter.  BunnyPalooza is a 10K run or 5K run/walk to benefit the QRCF’s scholarship and grant programs.  The races begin on Parkwood Avenue and Atlantic Avenue in downtown Bethany Beach and will end on the Bethany Beach Boardwalk.  The 10k begins at 8:30am; the 5k at 9:30am.

Race details are as follows: This will be a chip-timed event by Races2Run and Nova, featuring real time results posted on a multitude of large screen monitors.  BunnyPalooza offers recognition for winners – overall, masters and age group medals and special top finisher, and a post-race party at Mango’s on the Boardwalk Bethany Beach, with beer provided by NKS distributors.  The first 200 10k finishers will receive finisher medals.   BunnyPalooza 10k Run is $40; BunnyPalooza 5k Run is $30.  Online registration is open until March 28 at noon.  Race packets may be picked up at Mango’s on March 30, 12-4pm; on-site registration will be available on Saturday, March 31, at 7:15am if the race has not sold out. Register for BunnyPalooza at Bunnypaloozarun.com

“We are so excited to jump start the spring race season with this popular race for a great cause – the QRCF’s scholarship and grant programs! We were recently named one of the top races in Delaware by BestofDelaware.com, so check us out to see what all the hype is about!  The run itself is great – fast and flat – Palooza Plaza – featuring music, and other surprises, plus an after party for participants and their guests, that cannot be equaled.  This race is sure to sell out again this year, so I hope everyone registers early.” said Laurie McFaul, QRCF President.
“BunnyPalooza offers something for everyone.  For runners and their families, visitors and residents, the festival-like atmosphere is sure to be entertaining.” said McFaul.

Proceeds from BunnyPalooza  benefit the many individuals, groups, clubs, and organizations that are served by the QRCF.  “Events such as BunnyPalooza, our Hair of the Dog Run, and Caribbean Christmas help us fund two $8,000 scholarships annually to local students and both major and minor grants to area non-profits.  We are grateful for the extraordinary community support that helps us to do good work in the Quiet Resorts.” said McFaul.  “We have awarded more than $620,000 in our 16 year history.”
“The QRCF is also excited to announce that we are currently accepting applications for our annual college scholarship program – an opportunity for an area senior to receive an $8,000 four year scholarship commitment to help a worthy student get ahead in college, and a $1,000 arts scholarship to a local junior or graduating senior.” added McFaul.  For more information, local students can find more information or apply online: www.qrcf.org.  The deadline for this year’s scholarships is April 11, 2018.
