Consisting of a 6-mile stretch of beach and 20-miles of bay shorelines along a barrier island, the Delaware Seashore State Park has something for everyone. Go fishing, camping, biking, kayaking, boating, exploring, beaching, surfing, and so much more. Take in stunning views of Delaware’s beautiful beaches and bays, catch glimpses of local wildlife, explore the region’s rich history, and enjoy one amazing beach day.

Lifeguards patrol the beaches full-time from Memorial Day until Labor Day and some weekends throughout September.
From Memorial Day to Labor Day, beach wheelchairs can be requested from 8:00 am to sunset. Contact (302) 227-7328 to request a wheelchair.
A beach boardwalk, beach access mats, and wheelchairs are all provided so that everyone can spend a day in the park.
Pets are allowed in the park, but are prohibited from sunbathing/swimming beaches from May to September. From October – April, dogs are allowed on all beaches.
From October – April, parking is FREE in the park. From May to September parking is paid. Visitors can purchase an annual Delaware State Park Pass that will give them access to the park for the entire year.
Both swimming beaches inside of the park have bathroom facilities equipped with showers and changing rooms.
Just north of the inlet is one of the few surfing beaches accessible year-round.
Multiple dune crossing points provide access to beaches designated for fishing. Vehicles with a surf fishing permit can drive onto the beach to fish. Surf fishing vehicle decals and plates may be purchased at the nearby Delaware Seashore Regional Office located at the Indian River Marina, at the Indian River Life-Saving Station.
A pier at the Indian River Inlet provides opportunities for fishing year-round. Clamming and crabbing are permitted in some sections of the bays; please check with the Park Office for open areas and available permits.
The popular oceanfront restaurant, The Big Chill Beach Club is located at the South Inlet. On the North Inlet, visitors can enjoy stunning views at Dockside Marina Bar & Grill.
The park has multiple kayak launches, a marina for boating, and six trails for hiking/biking.
There are two campgrounds accessible on each side of the marina.
