The old saying goes, “the third time is the charm”!  On August 6, 2017, the 3^rd Annual Athletes Against Alzheimer’s 5k Run/Walk, presented by Loftus Wealth Strategies, is planned.  The 5k run/walk will benefit the Alzheimer’s Association Delaware Valley Chapter.

Michael Loftus, of Loftus Wealth Strategies, a wealth management and financial planning business in Dagsboro, is the event founder.

According to the Alzheimer’s Association website, Alzheimer’s is a type of dementia that causes problems with memory, thinking and behavior; the life-interfering symptoms worsen over time and there is no cure.

“The third one will be the charm! We hope to exceed what we raised last year, which was $25,000. If we do that, we will have raised nearly $70,000 in our three-year history. The event funds the treatment, research and support for those affected by Alzheimer’s and their caregivers,” said Loftus. “I challenge runners, sponsors, volunteers, residents and visitors, to help us beat our ambitious goal of $25,000. Registration for runners, volunteers and sponsors is open, and together, we will support the work of this important charity and end the vicious disease.”
