LOFTUS WEALTH STRATEGIES DONATES $26,000 TO END ALZHEIMER’S!

December 1, Millville, DE – The 2nd annual Athletes to End Alzheimer’s 5k Run/Walk, presented by Loftus Wealth Strategies, recently made a $26,000 gift to the Alzheimer’s Association, making the race one of the top 3 fundraising events in the mid-Atlantic region for the Association.

According to the Alzheimer’s Association website, Alzheimer’s is a type of dementia that causes problems with memory, thinking and behavior; the life-interfering symptoms worsen over time and there is no cure.

Michael Loftus, of Loftus Wealth Strategies, a wealth management and financial planning business in Millville, is the event founder and organizer. “I am thrilled to put on this Race and make this gift to the Alzheimer’s Association for treatment, research and support for those affected by Alzheimer’s and their caregivers.” said Loftus.

The Alzheimer’s Association has recently crowned the race the #1 third-party fundraising event in Delaware.  Third party events have the ability to direct their funding.  This race has chosen to distribute the contribution to the local ALZ Chapter in Georgetown, Delaware, funds for research and development, and also to raise awareness to the Delaware Valley Chapter.

“I would like to thank the 700 runners, our volunteers, and sponsors: Anne Powell Group at Resort Quest, Baja Beach House Grill, Creative Resource Group, Law Offices of Scott & Shuman, Todd & Candace Hickman Family, DJ Padraig, Heather’s Home Works, Home Instead Senior Care, 26 Salon & Spa, Home and Hearth Caregivers, and Dr. David Williams.  Thanks also to Focus Multisports for managing a top-notch race and to the Town of Bethany Beach and Town Council.  You were all teammates in the gift, and are valued partners in eradicating this terrible disease.” said Loftus.

In the two years of the run, over $44,000 has been contributed, with more to come next year: save the date for August 6, 2017.
