Joe’s Bent Spoon opened its doors in July 2021 and unlike magicians who bend spoons with their minds, preparing food for families by Joe Mac is no illusion. Meals at Joe’s Bent Spoon are the real deal.

“The past year has been a wonderful  whirlwind.” Said Stefanie McElhinny, “Every day we have the pleasure of meeting new faces -local to our community and tourists looking for a quieter venue outside the beach scene.

Joe has been in the kitchen creating culinary delights for Ocean City, Maryland area residents and guests for the past 20 years after completing his training at the Le Cordon Bleu School of Culinary Arts in Pennsylvania. His dream was to create a family-friendly restaurant with his wife, Stefanie, and two children.

Staying humble is a core value; Joe’s Bent Spoon continues to host events to give back to the community as they continue to grow. This year JBS hosted a dine and donate for the Lord Baltimore Elementary Robotics club, proceeds went towards the team’s trip to the finals competition in Texas. In addition, they are participants of the Indian River High School discount card supporting their band program.

The venue is utilized for celebrations and event gatherings- teams, schools, clubs, groups, and local businesses. The monthly Wine and Sign event, in collaboration with Chestnut & Home, became popular amongst the patrons. During this event, the customers create a piece of art under the direction of a local artist, while sipping on their favorite libation. In another event, Joe’s Bent Spoon hosted a birthday party where the kids were taught by Chef Joe how to make pizza. The children were each given their own chef hat and apron to make their chef role official!

“Whether it’s dining in the comfort of our cozy space, a fundraiser, celebration, or catering event, these experiences wouldn’t be possible without our small but mighty staff. Hard work is an understatement. We are beyond lucky to have the committed and loyal employees that we do. If you haven’t been to Joe’s Bent Spoon, please consider giving us the opportunity to provide you with some top-notch service, a savory meal, and a quenching drink (or two) from our bar!” Said McElhinny

Unlike the illusionists, who bend spoons with their minds, Joe’s Bent Spoon is the real deal. From their family to yours, they look forward to welcoming you to their new home away from home.
