DBG Announces Educational Lecture on Delaware Birds
On June 11th at 6 p.m., Delaware Botanic Gardens at Pepper Creek (DBG) will continue it’s Pavilion Educational Lecture series, featuring Dr. Ian Stewart, Ornithologist at Delaware Nature Society. He will give a presentation on “How Birds can make you get more out of life.” Tickets are required. Go to Events at www.delawaregardens.org.
“Birds are a perfect gateway to the natural world and Delaware is fortunate to have a rich variety. I will discuss some of our state’s avian highlights and some of the best places to watch Birds in lower Delaware,” said Dr. Steward. “Also I will suggest several ways to attract more Birds to your yard.”
Ray Sander, DBG Chair said. “Dr. Steward grew up in northeast England and received his PhD at University of Leicester, UK. He works at Delaware Nature Society, where he studies how land management practices affect Birds, with a focus on Wood Thrushes. We welcome him to DBG. Please join us!
“DBG has a 12-acre woodlands with 1, 000 feet of shoreline, where over 50 species of birds thrive. Our 1.5- mile ADA compatible wide walking trail leads through the woods to Pepper Creek. The birds feed in the meadow and nest in the woods,” noted Sheryl Swed, DBG Executive Director.
