On Friday, May 23, 2025, the Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Poseidon Festival in Bethany Beach. Friends, family, and community members were in attendance.

The town’s Events Director, Julie Malewski, started the Poseidon Festival ten years ago to celebrate the sea and educate guests and locals alike on ocean safety and how to prepare for coastal emergencies. Complete with live music, pirates, mermaids, marine scientists, and more, this Memorial Day Weekend tradition pairs education with family fun in a beautiful beachfront location.
