“Berlin Maryland ABCs” New Book by local author Joanne Guilfoil

Local author Joanne K. Guilfoil offers an “insider’s view” of Berlin, Maryland in her new book:

BERLIN MARYLAND ABCs.

Locals and tourists will come to treasure Berlin’s historic people and places as well as contemporary events and locations pictured in this cool little book. Town Mayor Gee Williams said it is a “lyrical and entertaining way to introduce the young—and young at heart—to Berlin”.

Author Joanne K. Guilfoil is proud to announce the publication of her new ABC book:

BERLIN MARYLAND ABCs.

This paperback book is available for $15.00. It is the second in a series of ABC books by Joanne K. Guilfoil about places on Delmarva. The first was ABCs OF FLYING OVER DELMARVA.  In a similar style, colorful photographs and clear line drawings are used to illustrate Berlin’s festivals, parades, food and people having fun! History comes alive with hometown heroes, scenes of long ago, art and antiques in marvelous museums. They are all portrayed half in living color and half “to color”, or as young ones do, scribble. All these things found in Berlin are here for you to see, color and take home!

This “insider’s view” of Berlin includes gems such as the historic Atlantic Hotel inside and out, antiques and boutiques, the Calvin B. Taylor House museum and art galleries, the Germantown School and Globe Theatre, a luncheonette and ice cream parlor, …and the coolest toy store ever! The best image is a painting of Berlin gracing the back cover of the book, by long-time local fine artist Patrick L. Henry. On the inside, he explains this painting as one of his “nostalgic images of the Eastern Shore”.

Berlin is still “America’s Coolest Small Town” and is celebrating its 150th Anniversary all year in 2018! Come join the fun and get this little book as a reminder of your visit!
