10th Annual Turkey Trot Scheduled For Thanksgiving Day

October 26, 2017, Fenwick Island, DE – The 10th Annual Fenwick Island Turkey Trot will be held on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 23, 2017 at 8 am.  The untimed 2.2 mile fun run/walk starts ocean-side on Lewes Street in Fenwick Island, goes south to the Maryland state line and back.  The public is invited and leashed pets are welcome!  Holiday-themed or other festive costumes are encouraged.  Plenty of free parking will be available at Warren’s Station, Bethany Fenwick Chamber of Commerce, and Pottery Place Perks Café in Sunshine Plaza, all on Route 1 in Fenwick Island.

There is no charge to participate, but trotters are encouraged to make a donation. Contributions will be donated to the Bethany Beach Volunteer Fire Company (BBVFC) and Roxana Volunteer Fire Company (RVFC).  Additionally, proceeds from commemorative tee-shirt sales will also be donated.  Pre-ordering commemorative tee-shirts is encouraged with limited quantities to be sold at the Trot.  They are $25.

“Our first responders are brave and self-less in the work they do each day.  This is our 10th year and I hope to make it the most successful one yet. I invite our community members, individuals and sponsors, to rally to raise money for the companies,” said event founder and organizer Lori Martin.

Non-perishable food donations will also be collected, starting on Friday October 27th at Pottery Place Perks Café, in Fenwick Island.  They will be donated to Neighbors in Need. Stop in for your favorite beverage before the Trot; Perks opens at 7am.

Post Trot, join us for a complimentary coffee, hot chocolate and oatmeal reception sponsored and hosted by Pottery Place Perks Café.

Sponsorships are currently available, at a variety of price ranges, with considerable benefits. Sponsors must provide signage.  Interested businesses should contact Lori Martin at: 302.539.1290 or email [email protected]
