$2,500 was donated to the Beebe Medical Foundation’s “Beebe Goes Purple” event that supports Opioid Awareness, Education, Prevention and Recovery. The mission is to fight the growing opioid crisis in Sussex County. An event at the Starboard on October 6th to help raise funds for the cause. Over 20 years ago, a simple idea shared among a few friends – to raise money to buy gifts for those in need during the holiday season – became the Sussex County Association of REALTORS® Community Service Foundation and was formally established in 2008. This Foundation has grown and evolved into Sussex Strong. After decades of quietly supporting and strengthening Sussex County, Delaware, it was time to take pride in the efforts, promote all the good works done and provide greater recognition to the scores of donors and volunteers that have made the organization so unique. $1,000 was given to the Community Resource Center. The organization or CRC is a volunteer-driven organization created in 2011 to assist low-income individuals and families in times of need.
