QRCF Caribbean Christmas a Success
QRCF 12th ANNUAL CARIBBEAN CHRISTMAS FUNDRAISER A SUCCESS
December 14, 2016, Bethany Beach, DE – The Quiet Resorts Charitable Foundation (QRCF) is thrilled to announce that the 12th annual Caribbean Christmas held Saturday, December 3 at Mango’s was a colossal success. The sold-out event benefited Justin’s Beach House and Contractors for a Cause (CFAC) Helping Hands Program.
The extravaganza featured tastings from 11 area restaurants, delicious spirits, hundreds of live and silent auction items, photo booth, live music from Electric Velvet, lots of holiday cheer, with an irresistible island vibe.
“This year’s event was wildly successful, selling out days beforehand. And we are thrilled by the response by attendees, sponsors, donors and volunteers. A huge thank you to our volunteers from Justin’s Beach House, Contractors for a Cause, and our fabulous QRCF board members for making this year’s event memorable. Thanks also to Mango’s, Beach Liquors, Electric Velvet, John Donato Art, MVZ Productions, all of the restaurants and businesses for donating to this year’s event.” said Brigit Taylor, QRCF President. “I would like to extend special thanks for the extraordinary work of the co-chairs Christina Antonioli and Laurie McFaul.”
“We are still dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s, but we forecast terrific contributions to our beneficiaries this year!” said Taylor. “Our next fundraiser is on New Year’s Day – the Hair of the Dog Run/Walk and Exercise Like the Eskimo’s Plunge, on which we partner with the Chamber. It’s a fun and family-friendly way to start of 2017!”
According to the website, the mission of The Justin W. Jennings Foundation is to support and maintain a home in the Bethany Beach area where families with cancer can have a place of respite and enjoy some fun family time. It is a place of joy and peace at the beach.
“Justin’s Beach House is grateful for the opportunity to be selected as a recipient of a gift and to partner with QRCF on this year’s Caribbean Christmas. 2017 will be our 6th year offering a week of much needed respite for cancer families in beautiful Bethany Beach and this donation helps to make that possible.” Said Kathy Green, Executive Director, Justin’s Beach House.
“The Quiet Resort Foundation’s choice to select Contractors for A Cause as one of its beneficiaries of their Caribbean Christmas fundraiser is a great boost to our community programs” said Nick Kypreos, Treasurer of Contractors For A Cause CFAC is a local not for profit organization 501c(3) dedicated in helping our local community members in need through its Helping Hands and its Good Neighbor Programs.
“The funds from the Quiet Resort Foundation are going to allows us to help more community folks with both our Helping Hands and Good Neighbor activities” said Garth Troescher, Sr. current president of the CFAC. He added “We are very grateful with for their support”.
The Helping Hands program headed by Ted Stephens and provides home repairs to community members and enhances home accessibility for disabled. The Good Neighbor program, headed by Nick Kypreos, provides direct financial assistance to community members faced with urgent medical needs and catastrophic events in their lives.
