Old Timers’ Day Returns on June 15th
The 67th Old Timers’ Day Classic Car Show & Family Festival returns to Selbyville on Saturday, June 15, 2024 from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. This annual Father’s Day Weekend event is hosted by the Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Selbyville and presented by the Bunting & Murray Construction Corporation.
A family-friendly affair, Old Timers’ Day features an incredible classic car show of vehicles dating as far back as the 1920s. Festival activities will include live DJ provided by BKH Entertainment sponsored by the Bank of Ocean City, food vendors, children’s activities, an outdoor beer garden, live performance by Glass Onion Band sponsored by Mountaire Farms, local artisans, a dunk tank sponsored by David, Bowen & Friedel, Inc, indoor roller skating, and a historic walking tour through downtown Selbyville sponsored by Northwestern Mutual.
Back again, the pop-up beer garden benefitting the Selbyville Volunteer Fire Company, sponsored by Banks Wines & Spirits, will last from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm, allowing festival attendees to enjoy a refreshing beverage as they take in the festivities of the day. Salem United Methodist Church will host roller skating at their indoor rink ($1 skate rental) and additional children’s activities including inflatables sponsored by the McDonalds of Selbyville will also be featured on Church Ave. Free fire truck rides, courtesy of the Selbyville Volunteer Fire Company, will also be offered from 11am-2pm.
Take a stroll down through the town to experience the historic walking tour, featuring stops the Townsend House, Salem United Methodist Church, the historic Post Office, Selbyville Railroad Museum and Fire Hall Museum.
“Locals, visitors, families, and car enthusiasts alike have spent the Saturday of Father’s Day weekend in downtown Selbyville, and we love having the opportunity to highlight the town,” says Chamber Executive Director Lauren Weaver. “Guests find the inland towns to be charming and family-friendly. The classic cars and trucks are a blast from the past.”
Vehicle entry into the car show is $10, and the first 100 registrants receive a commemorative event gift, sponsored by Murray Sod. The 2024 festival will have an all-new judging process with awards going to the top 25 vehicles submitted for judging as well as the Best in Show and Oldest of the Old Timers awards.
