Howard T. Ennis’ Transition Programs are looking for service businesses looking to support Community Based Work-Based Learning programs to assist local students. The COVID -19 pandemic has created a void in this program as students are currently unable to engage in the in-person training. The program is looking for businesses that would consider providing Work-Based Learning in a video format. The school is looking for short 5 to10 minute videos to show students how to do to jobs such as running a cash register, running a dishwasher, cooking a menu item, or making a bed in a hotel. The school will provide the labor and equipment to do the video, all you need to do is be willing to volunteer your time to participate in the video!

The PACT (Pre-Vocational Academic and Community Transition) Program
- Our PACT Program services students between the ages of 14 and 18. In Delaware, transition planning for special needs students begins at age 14. The PACT program provides students opportunities to develop and enhance employment, independent living, and functional academic skills. Students have opportunities to participate in-school and community-based work crews.
The STEP (Student-Centered Transition Education and Pre-Vocational)Program
- Our STEP Program services students between the ages of 18 and 21. This program emphasizes the development of solid employment and independent living skills. Focused training on community-based and on-campus work crews are provided.
- While participating in the STEP program each student’s transition plan is narrowed and refined so that a clear path forward is afforded to each student to following his/her graduation.
An Educational Job Coach is a school employee who serves as a consultant to business partners and students with disabilities to facilitate the success of students participating in school and community-based work experiences. The Job Coach supplements employer-provided job training when needed by the students, supports the students as they learn to advocate for themselves in obtaining the supports or accommodations they need to do their job, and facilitates the development of the social skills necessary for inclusion in the workplace culture.
