Harpoon Hanna Restaurant and Tiki Bar, a beloved family-friendly waterfront dining destination in Fenwick Island, Delaware, has been recognized as one of the Top 100 Independent Restaurants for 2024, by Restaurant Hospitality Magazine. This prestigious honor highlights the restaurant’s outstanding performance, with yearly sales of $11,791,734 and over 343,000 meals served annually.

“We’re incredibly honored to be named to the Top 100 Independent Restaurants list once again,” said Wes. “This achievement is a testament to our dedicated team, our loyal customers, and the continued support from our community. We look forward to celebrating this milestone with our guests and continuing to provide exceptional food and service for years to come.”

With a rich history spanning over 40 years, Harpoon Hanna has been a cornerstone of the local dining scene since its founding in 1983 by Frank Hanna. Today, son, Wes Hanna, continues the family legacy as co-owner, overseeing all operations. The restaurant previously earned a spot on the prestigious Top 100 Independent Restaurants list from 1989 to 1991, and Wes has worked to bring this honor back. “I remember seeing those awards in the lobby when I was younger, but I did not fully understand their significance at the time. Today, being part of the business, it means so much to carry on my father’s legacy and uphold the tradition of excellence,” Wes shared.

Harpoon Hanna offers a wide variety of signature seafood dishes, including the crowd-favorite jumbo lump crab imperial, alongside fresh fish, Certified Angus beef, and all-you-can-eat crab legs. Guests can enjoy waterfront dining and breathtaking sunsets while sipping tropical cocktails at the outdoor tiki bar, making it a must-visit destination for both locals and tourists alike – whether guests are arriving by car or by boat.

Known for its spacious, welcoming environment, Harpoon Hanna seats over nine hundred guests and includes a banquet room called the Maryland Room—a unique feature, as the Maryland/Delaware state line cuts through the property. Open every day of the year, the restaurant thrives year-round, with a strong shoulder season.

Last year, the restaurant underwent renovation to further enhance the guest experience, and its live entertainment offerings keep patrons returning for more. Harpoon Hanna is also proud to offer tax-free shopping and dining in Delaware, a perk that adds to its appeal.

Additionally, be sure to visit Harpoon Hanna’s sister location, Brew River, in Salisbury, MD, for another exceptional dining experience.
