Beebe Healthcare and UD Create Educational Partnership

Beebe Healthcare’s Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing and the University of Delaware create educational partnership

Lewes, DE – Beebe Healthcare’s Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing and the University of Delaware (UD) have formed a partnership to support students that have a goal of becoming registered nurses (RN) while earning their Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, without leaving Sussex County.

Students can dually enroll in the Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing and in the UD Associate in Arts Program (AAP) so that they can earn their Diploma in Nursing and their Associate in Arts degree. Once the students have completed the Diploma program, they can work as a registered nurse while they earn their Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.

Financial aid and scholarships are available.  New high school graduates may be eligible for Student Excellence Equals Degree (SEED) funding for the first year.

“The new partnership between Beebe Healthcare’s Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing and the University of Delaware allows students to attain their nursing education in a comprehensive manner with excellent hands-on clinical experiences, as well as classroom instruction in nursing, science, and the humanities,” said Karen Pickard, MSN, RN, CNE, Program Administrator of Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing. “Students will be able to attain a Nursing Diploma, Associate Degree, and a Bachelor of Science Degree, all in Sussex County.  The School of Nursing has had a long-standing relationship with the University of Delaware. However, this new partnership provides students with seamless degree progression that includes a strong nursing foundation based around clinical excellence, combined with the theoretical coursework needed in today’s health care environment.”
