A license is required in all waters to fish, clam, or crab.

DRIVE - ON SURF FISHING PERMITS
The purchase of a surf fishing permit enables individuals to drive onto designated beaches for the sole
purpose of surf fishing. A license plate, permit, and a decal are issued. The permit also allows the vehicle to
gain entrance into all Delaware State Parks (excludes: Fort Delaware, Killens Pond Water Park, and Deauville
Beach). There is no cap on the number of permits sold and permits are valid from January 1st through
December 31st. The surf fishing program requires reservations during peak times with a valid annual or
two-year surf fishing permit. A $4 fee will be applied per reservation.

OFF-PEAK SURF FISHING PERMITS
An off-peak surf fishing permit allows you to drive onto the beach to fish, with no reservation necessary, on
off-peak days only.
Monday through Friday during Peak Season (Memorial Day weekend to the Monday after Labor Day).
Vehicle access on holidays and weekends during Peak Season not allowed. All holiday access is
excluded.
Seven days a week during Off Peak Season (Tuesday after Labor Day to Memorial Day weekend).

Resident Off-Peak Permit: $70 Non-Resident Off-Peak Permit: $140
