Government Contracting and Certification Program

GOVERNMENT CONTRACTING AND CERTIFICATION PROGRAM
SET FOR JANUARY 31 AT SBDC IN GEORGETOWN

Georgetown, DE – A government contracting and certification program, sponsored by the Procurement Technical Assistance Center of Delaware (PTAC), will be offered on Tuesday, January 31, 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Georgetown. The program is free of charge, but participants must pre-register by contacting Dana Reece at 302-831-0781; via email, [email protected]; or online at http://deptac.ecenterdirect.com/events/5021.

“The new administration’s plans are likely to have a particularly big impact on the highway construction industry,” said Juanita Beauford, program director of PTAC, “Which stands to ultimately receive billions in federally-financed dollars. State and local governments will be first in line to receive the funds so they can be trickled down to create thousands of new jobs, she said. “Those dollars will be filtered through prime contractors and their disadvantaged business enterprise (DBE) partners, who will be performing many of these federally-funded projects. With billions of dollars likely to hit the streets, this is a good time for firms to look into the DBE program.”
Featured presenters, in addition to PTAC, include the U.S. Small Business Administration, Delaware Office of Supplier Diversity and the Delaware Department of Transportation. The agenda includes:

• Free Federal Contract Assistance (PTAC of DE) 9-9:30 a.m.;
• DelDOT’s Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Program 9:30-10:30 a.m.;
• The 8(A), HUBZone, and Service Disabled Veterans Programs (SBA) 10:30-11:30 a.m.; and
• Delaware Office of Supplier Diversity (OSD) 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

The program will be held at the Small Business Development Center, 103 W. Pine Street in Georgetown. For more information and to register: Contact Dana Reece at 302-831-0781, [email protected] or http://deptac.ecenterdirect.com/events/5021.
