The Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce wants to promote your new venture with grand opening or expansion. These events are for any new business, new location or expansion of a business that is a BFACC Chamber member.
How to plan your Ribbon-Cutting
Set the Time and Date
Contact the Chamber preferably 10 or more days in advance to schedule a date which is best for your business and does not conflict with other events. The best times to schedule an event are 10am, 12 noon or 4pm on any business day.
If your business does not have a storefront, we can host a virtual Ribbon-Cutting here on the deck of The Chamber. With the backdrop of the dunes and sounds of the waves, it is a great setting!
Let Everyone Know
The Chamber will help promote your Ribbon-Cutting by inviting local dignitaries and spreading the news throughout the Chamber with the Board of Directors, Ambassadors and all our members. Your event will be highlighted in our weekly email newsletter, E-Currents, and promoted on our online event calendar. A post event press release and photos will be sent to all local media resources.
We also encourage you to make a guest list that includes clients, friends, and family as well as the community members. You can also write a press release, make a poster – the sky is the limit in getting the word out.
Plan the Day
The agenda is up to you! The owner or a representative can welcome guests, highlight your business and invite guests to tour your place. A member of The Chamber staff will welcome you and can emcee the event for you, too. Having a small reception with refreshments is also a nice touch after the ceremony. However, this is your day, so we can make anything happen to make your event special.
The highlight, behind the business itself, is the actual cutting of the ribbon. We will provide the ribbon and the famous BIG SCISSORS! We will take the photo and send the post event press releases to the local media (Coastal Point, Delaware Wave, Morning Star Business Reports and Cape Gazette).
