Winter WonderFEST Helps Make Delaware Beaches a Holiday Destination

November 2, 2016 (Dover, Del.) – An area known for summer fun will be transformed into a winter wonderland this holiday season. Winter WonderFEST – made up of the Light Spectacular and Christmas Village – will bring the holiday spirit to southern Delaware like never before from Nov. 18 to Jan. 1.

The two-mile Light Spectacular is a drive-thru light show with more than 60 awe-inspiring displays that brighten the night at Cape Henlopen State Park with beautiful colors. The Christmas Village at the Cape May-Lewes Ferry Terminal will have an ice skating rink, live music, indoor holiday workshops, a strolling Santa and carnival rides, including a giant Ferris wheel.

“This is an excellent opportunity for visitors to experience the Delaware Beaches outside of the summer months,” said Linda Parkowski, Delaware Tourism Director. “And while visitors are here for Winter WonderFEST, they can enjoy tax-free holiday shopping at nearby Tanger Outlets Center or the boutiques in Lewes, Rehoboth or Bethany.”

Visit Delaware is a co-sponsor of the festival.

Winter WonderFEST starts Friday, Nov. 18 with a 5K run and two-mile walk around Light Spectacular followed by an opening night party at Lewes’ Crooked Hammock Brewery.
