Bethany Beach, DE – For the third consecutive year, the Quiet Resorts Charitable Foundation (QRCF) will present a $1000 scholarship to a local Junior or Senior artist at this year’s Arts Festival on Saturday September 10th, from 10:00am – 5:00pm in downtown Bethany Beach.  This scholarship will be awarded to the student chosen by professional local artists then voted on later by the public at the bandstand during the Arts Festival. Judging is open to the public, and all community members are encouraged to participate.

The QRCF seeks to improve the quality of life in the Bethany-Fenwick area by providing support for programs, organizations, and individuals that improve the community for locals and visitors alike. The QRCF understands that helping a local students achieve their college dreams, benefits the entire community.

The Arts Scholarship was founded in 2014 by the QRCF along with the Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce.  QRCF scholarships are funded through the generosity of donors, including local businesses, The Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce, and QRCF fundraising events including the Bethany Beach Arts Festival, Caribbean Christmas, The Hair of the Dog Run, BunnyPalooza! Run and Ocean to Bay Bike Tour.  This year, the Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce awarded over $8000 to the QRCF from funds raised by the 2016 Ocean to Bay Bike Tour. To date, tens of thousands of dollars have been awarded to deserving local students.  The QRCF is grateful to the many partners who have helped to make past and future scholarships possible; opportunities to contribute as a donor, sponsor or volunteer are available by visiting www.qrcf.org.
